  • The American Herb Association Quarterly Newsletter - The American Herb Association - Newsletter, P. O. Box 1673, Nevada City, CA 95959.  This newsletter is compiled from many sources of information dealing with herb-related news. The newsletter reports on the latest herb reports, news and international news concerning herbs, legal news, gives book references, provides case study information, compiles herbal statistics and has a calendar of events on upcoming herbal happenings.

  • HerbalGram - ABC, P.O. Box 201660, Austin, TX 78720, Phone (512) 331-8868, Fax (512) 331-1924 This journal is published by the American Botanical Council and the Herb Research Foundation. This publication provides information on the latest news and research information regarding Herbalism. The journal updates the most recent legal and regulatory issues concerning FDA proposed regulations and has book reviews listing reference books available concerning Herbalism and natural medicine. The journal also includes a Herbal Education Catalog, which features hard to find books, exclusive publications, HerbalGram back issues and botanical booklets. Much more is included in this journal which is published quarterly.

  • The Herbalist: The Newsletter of the American Herbalists Guild - AHG, P.O. Box 1683, Soquel, CA 95073, Phone or Fax 408-464-2441, 303-423-8800.  This newsletter is published quarterly. It provides research information, herbal-medical contraindications, book reviews, information on how to prepare products, AHG council meeting notes, and resources and conferences that are upcoming throughout the year.

  • Herb Network Ezine - The Herb Network Ezine is a free on-line twice monthly newsletter, dedicated to helping the herbal enthusiast learn, share, network with like minded people.

  • Medical Herbalism: A Clinical Newsletter for the Herbal Practitioner - Bergner Communications - Attn: Newsletter, P. O. Box 20512, Boulder, Colorado 80308. This newsletter provides research articles on disease states with the case history reviews of actual patients taking herbal formulas. It also provides the practitioner with a list of resources such as books, computer software, and video instruction. There is a classified section and the newsletter also provides free bulk sample copies of Medical Herbalism to the herbal educator.











  • American Herbalists Guild - The American Herbalists Guild was founded in 1989 as a non-profit, educational organization to represent the goals and voices of herbalists. It is the only peer-review organization in the United States for professional herbalists specializing in the medicinal use of plants. AHG membership consists of professionals, general members (including students) and benefactors.

  • American Botanical Council - A nonprofit herbal research & education organization established to inform & educate the public about beneficial herbs & plants.

  • American Herbal Pharmacopoeia - The primary goal of the AHP is to produce authoritative monographs containing accurate, critically reviewed information on botanicals which can provide guidance in the appropriate use of herbal therapeutics.

  • Australian Native Plant Images - Each page provides the scientific name of the plant, the name of the person (or people) who described and published that name, the family that the plant belongs to, a common name and perhaps some brief notes relating to the plant.

  • Lloyd Library and Museum - The largest pharmacognosy library in the U.S. Founded more than 100 years ago by pioneering pharmacist John Uri Lloyd to meet the research needs of Lloyd Brothers Pharmacists, Inc. who formulated the Eclectics' line of specific medications. Contains quite possibly the world's most extensive collection of botanical reference materials; a mecca for herbalists, botanists, and plant lovers. Contains approximately 200,000 volumes, including rare antique botanical works, pharmacopoeias, dispensatories, and materia medicas, as well as modern reference works and more than 600 journal titles. Repository of the famous Eclectic Medical Institute records from the 19th & early 20th centuries. The oldest text is an ancient Egyptian formulary known as a papyrus ebers from around 1500 BC, containing 700-800 different botanical formulations.

  • Medical Herbalism - This site is brought to you by Medical Herbalism, a quarterly journal of clinical herbalism. We provide links to medical information and to any resource we can find relevant to medicinal herbs or herbalism practiced in a clinical setting (regardless of the medical tradition).

  • Henriette's Herbal Homepage - This is a large information site put together by Henriette Kress.

  • A Modern Herbal, by Mrs. M. Grieve - Originally published in 1931, the complete (searchable) text of the 2-volume, 900-page materia medica.

  • Naturopathic Medicine Network

  • SW School of Botanical Medicine/Michael Moore Home Page - contains current class information, a library of medicinal herb downloads, and a mega-archive of medicinal plant pictures. This is one of the best herbal sites on the internet.  The Teaching Manuals contain information for the learned who understand multisyllabic medical words ending in -itis.
